In your one-on-one video call with Oliver we’ll talk about the guitar, answer any of your questions and discuss exactly what you’re looking for.

We’ll determine your full spec and discuss any customisation options you have in mind.

Visualise your spec choices

From there, we produce computer renders to show you how a guitar with your exact specs will look.

Approve your final guitar design

Once you are totally happy, and have made a US $2,000 deposit, we’re good to go.

Get build updates at milestones

We’ll send you pictures from the workshop so you can watch your guitar come to life.

Make some music!

When your custom Rubato Lassie is complete, we will invoice you for the balance and ship your guitar out as soon as we’ve received payment.

Order Your Guitar

Standard specifications include:

  • One-piece carbon fibre body and neck
  • Clear, gloss paint finish, to showcase the beauty of the carbon fibre monocoque.
  • Flamed maple fretboard with black oval inlays.
  • Porter mini-humbuckers, wound in Boise, Idaho.
  • Chrome hardware.
  • Stainless steel medium-jumbo frets with Rubato ball-ends.
  • Your preferred string gauge and setup.
  • Aluminium flight case.

If you’re after something more customised, let’s talk. We can offer:

  • Alternative pickups, pickup configurations (HH, HSS, etc.) and wiring options.
  • Richlite fretboards. (A phenolic composite, in place of wood.)
  • Gold or black hardware.
  • Custom paint finishes.
  • Custom fretboard inlays.
  • Custom fretboard side markers.
  • Jumbo stainless steel frets.
  • Left-handed configuration. (No extra cost for this but the build may take slightly longer).

* Rubato guitars are proudly made in South Africa and shipping, taxes and import duties are determined by the prevailing rates at the delivery destination.

As an indication, the all-in landed prices come to roughly: $4,650 (USA) | £4,200 (UK) | €4,650 (EU).
Expect to pay US $350 for insured shipping. The US charges little to no import duties/taxes, while the EU charges around 20%.
